The Sounds of Wind

On a windy morning in May I tucked my microphone array into a hornbeam hedge at the edge of a field in North Leigh, Oxfordshire, UK. As well as the sound of the air movement, you can hear the leaves rattling in the stronger gusts.
The tall dry dune grasses on the shore at Bradwell on Sea, Essex, UK make their own distinct sound in the strong sea wind. I placed my microphones at ground level on a path immediately down wind of a large area of grass.
